Virtual Connections’ mission is to bring people living with aphasia together from all over the world. We are committed to improving quality of life while eliminating isolation by providing social connection, support, and educational experiences.
Virtual Connections is a free program that offers daily Zoom calls for people with aphasia and caregivers. Sessions focus on conversation, social connection, and quality of life.
Sessions are hosted by speech pathologists, music therapists, rehab professionals, and aphasia experts. Session topics include travel, hobbies, book clubs, food, holidays, music, and more! We know you’ll find something you love. Virtual Connections is not a speech therapy program, but rather virtual conversation and support groups for people with aphasia and caregivers.
Virtual Connections was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic when aphasia support groups around the country were forced into lockdown. The collaborative partners of Lingraphica and Aphasia Recovery Connection responded by creating a virtual place for people with aphasia to be able to connect. Since the launch in March 2020, Virtual Connections has expanded to now serve members from around the world.
Virtual Connections is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for people with aphasia and their care partners to learn, share, and connect. To ensure this, the collaborative partners of Lingraphica and Aphasia Recovery Connection have outlined the following values to be followed as the Virtual Connections Code of Conduct.
Patience: Virtual Connections members will be patient and kind to each other.
Respect: Virtual Connections members will be respectful of other members’ thoughts, ideas, and challenges.
Empowerment: Virtual Connections members will uplift and support each other on the aphasia journey.
Integrity: Virtual Connections members will do the right thing – even when no one is watching. Ensure that your behaviors match your values and the values of our program.
